Seminar on Quality Tools for Schools

Seminar on being organized by Quality Council of India in collaboration with Dayanand Institute of Education Management and Research organized a seminar on “Quality Tools for Schools” on December 30, 2009 at Taj Lands End, Bandra.  This was a follow-up activity on QCI’s efforts to improve quality of primary education in the country.  B. Bhattacharya, G. Natarajan and Manoj Karkhanis participated in the Seminar in which B. Bhattacharya made a presentation on “Application of 5S of Housekeeping to Schools”.

QCI Seminar on Education

We participated in the discussion on Emerging Paradigms in School Education organized by Quality Council of India in collaboration with Dayanand Institute of Education Management and Research (DIEMR) on November 28, 2009 at Hotel Taj Lands End, Bandra.  G. Natarajan, Manoj Karkhanis, Prakash Lele and Ms. Neelam Lele represented Quality Forum in this interactive session.

We celebrated the World Quality Day on 12 November 2009, through a Seminar focused on Education and Food quality.  Dr. Girdhar Gyani, Secretary General, Quality Council of India, New Delhi gave the keynote address in Seminar.  This was followed by an in-depth presentation on 'Quality in School Education and Governance' by Dr. K. B. Kushal, Director, DAV Centre for Creative Education, Navi Mumbai.  Ms. Dilbur Parakh, Chairperson, ASEEMA, Mumbai shared her work and initiative on education of the underprivileged children through her presentation on 'Quality Education and Underprivileged Children'.  The importance of safe drinking water was highlighted by Ms. Rajul Parikh, Director, Ace Hygiene Products Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai in her talk on 'Quality in Drinking Water'.  The dos and don’ts of how food should be treated and preserved were detailed by Ms. Vasundhara Deodhar, Member, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India in her presentation on 'Maintaining Food Quality in my kitchen'.  All the eminent speakers were presented with the newly designed memento of Quality Forum.

We presented a memento to Mr. C.B. Chandorkar, former Deputy Director General of the Bureau of Indian Standards and past Chairman of the Institution of Standards Engineers, Mumbai Section, in appreciation and acknowledgment of his lifelong contribution to quality and standardization.



SEPTEMBER 12, 2009


Seminar on “Profits through Energy Savings”

A one-day seminar on this topic was conducted by Quality Forum in association with Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TISSA) and Murbad Manufacturers Association (MMA) at Murbad, Maharashtra on Sep 12, 2009.  G. Natarajan gave an overview of Quality Forum and its activities to the participants who numbered 45.  Rajan Jawle and V. Kanetkar, members of Quality Forum were the faculty for the programme.  P.P. Ramakrishnan, Hon. Joint Secretary had accompanied the Quality Forum team and was present throughout.



April 07, 2009


Quality Forum, Kochi Centre in Association with Heart Care Foundation, Kochi and Medilab, Kochi observed World Health Day on 7th April 2009 by organizing a walkathon at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi in which around 200 health conscious walkers participated. Cine star Kunjacko Boban flagged off the walkathon.  Dr. Jose Chacko Periyappuram, heart transplant surgeon and the President of Quality Forum, Kochi Centre gave a brief talk on the importance of walking and other aerobic exercises.  T.A. Varkey, Hon. Secretary of the Kochi Centre was the chief organizer.
